Position Title:  Electronic Resources Librarian

 

Position Summary: This position will hold a leadership role in organizing and providing access to the library’s extensive electronic resources collection, (e-books, journals, and databases). Reporting to the Collections Development Officer, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the life cycle of e-resources, including coordinating the purchasing, licensing, access, and maintenance of all electronic materials. He or she will be expected to work cooperatively with serials, acquisitions and other departments across the library. This librarian will have overall responsibility for the library’s e-resources management system, Serials Solutions.

 

Qualifications:

* ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent.

* Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively and to adapt to technological changes.

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Flexibility and eagerness to work in a changing environment.

* Evidence of a commitment to service excellence.

 

Desired Qualifications:

* Demonstrated successful experience with electronic serials, ERMs, link resolvers, ILS and/or license negotiation.

* Demonstrated ability to initiate, organize and set priorities in a team environment.

* Evidence of strong organizational skills, including problem solving and project management.

* Ability to work both independently/collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment.

* Knowledge of established/emerging standards relating to electronic serials, e-resource management, resource licensing and copyright.

* Evidence of successful leadership abilities.
