This senior management position, reporting to the Dean of Libraries, will manage and supervise the interdepartmental work processes for the acquisition, licensing, description, classification, and maintenance of library collections of all types and in all formats. The incumbent will work closely with Head of Collection Development and other library colleagues in managing and tracking the collections budget and overseeing related data collection.The Director will also collaborate to address evolving developments in library technologies particularly as applied to discovery and access tools, integrated library systems, acquisition and cataloging of materials, and electronic resources management.

Under the direction of the Head of Serials and Electronic Resources Management Department, this position oversees and provides leadership for the Serials Cataloging Unit and the Bindery and Preservation Unit. The Serials and Cataloging Unit is responsible for cataloging of serials in all formats and the Bindery and Preservation Unit is responsible for binding library materials, book repairs, and disaster preparedness. The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian participates in the cataloging and management of serials, serving as liaison with other library departments for serial/series related issues, providing leadership in development of policies and procedures for cataloging of serials in all formats, and in providing bibliographic access to electronic resources. The Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian supervises three full-time staff and participates in other professional activities within the Library and the University as a whole. This is a twelve-month, non-tenured faculty position.
