Under the direction of the E-resources Licensing Specialist, incumbent is responsible for a broad range of duties and activities related to the acquisition and implementation of networked electronic resources for the Harvard libraries. Incumbent works and collaborates with colleagues throughout the libraries, in the central e-resource management unit, & in the Office for Information Systems. Implements new e-resources in E-Research @ Harvard Libraries (MetaLib), Find It @ Harvard (SFX), MARCit, EZ-Proxy, local ERM system, and vendor interfaces to insure implementation in a timely manner. Troubleshoots problems with existing e-resources (databases, e-books, e-journals) and Harvard Libraries’ systems related to e-resources. Communicate with vendors, staff and end users. Initiates trials and communicates with vendors regarding set-up issues. Oversees the financial processing of invoices and balancing of accounts for cost shared e-resources. Maintains documentation on the E-resources Management and Licensing documentation web site (i-site), including management information, usage statistics received from vendors, license information, financial data, and committee documents. Maintains accurate information about e-resources and e-journals in the e-resource management database (ERM) .Researches library holdings for prospective acquisitions and renewals & prepares background materials for evaluation purposes. Trains clerical & student staff in a variety of tasks to support digital acquisitions activities. Other duties & projects as assigned.
