The Director articulates the vision and direction of the CIP for CUL and university strategic planning processes. They will be responsible for continuing to develop wholesaler relationships for reference and CQ Researcher products through direct library sales, wholesale sales, and online vendor relationships, such as Amazon Advantage. Other responsibilities will include: Maintaining and building North American print sales revenues; Creating and monitoring print and wholesaler sales budgets; Supervising domestic vendor relationships, including promotional opportunities and presentation of CQP products; Developing new distribution channels for CQP online reference resources, such as through wholesalers and other third-party vendors; Providing analysis of promotions and product history; Delivering sales forecasts for future years, as well as current year reforecasts; Providing product management, including responsibility for inventory, pricing, and print runs; Coordinating with field sales and marketing teams and providing field sales support as needed; Generating and evaluating new product suggestions based on sales patterns; Liaising with field sales and Director re:international sales initiatives

Candidates must have prior print sales experience in the library marketplace, preferably with reference materials and periodicals. Web and partnership sales savvy, previous product development responsibilities, and a history of successful interaction with marketing, acquisitions, and editorial staff are also highly desirable.

Vanderbilt University Library is seeking a creative, service-oriented librarian to manage access to and information about library electronic resources, including approximately 20,000 e-journals and databases and over 300,000 e-books, for all libraries within the Jean & Alexander Heard Library System. Under the direction and support of the Associate University Librarian for Technical Services, s/he will collaborate with others throughout the library system to carry out this responsibility, including participation in identifying and licensing e-resources. Major duties include coordinating acquisition, payment, record keeping, fiscal control, technical compatibility, and upkeep of electronic resources; ensuring continuing access; and quickly resolving any problems that occur. The Electronic Resources Librarian will also gather and analyze data to evaluate usage, user satisfaction, and vendor performance for electronic resources; monitor trends in e-publishing and e-resource management; and recommend or implement new initiatives as appropriate.
