The Journals Division of Taylor & Francis Group, a division of informa and leading academic publisher, has an excellent opportunity for a dynamic sales professional to join its growing sales team. Reporting to the Director of Journals Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of online sales throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities: Increase and promote sales of T&F print and online journals throughout assigned region; Identify, maintain and develop current and prospective customer accounts and actively pursue opportunities for growth and development; Market and promote online sales models to current and prospective customers; Manage account details through CRM software; Track and share lead information throughout all stages of the sales process; Respond to RFPs from prospective customers and generate customized quotes; Successfully negotiate and execute sales agreements; Produce regular reports on sales activity and development opportunities * Assist in the development of sale proposals, management reports, supporting sales contact/CRM database; Attend library meetings and industry events as required.

Qualifications: Strong organizational and project management skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced presentation skills at all levels of business. Effective account management skills and the ability to form strong relationships and partnerships both internally and externally. Successful candidate will be highly organized, professional, confident, and goal oriented. Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ sales/marketing experience. Previous publishing experience and understanding of the academic library environment preferred. Knowledge of corporate and government markets also a plus. Proficiency with Windows applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, required. Previous experience with CRM software helpful. Overnight travel required.

Location: Local (Philadelphia-area) candidates preferred, but will also consider remote based candidates.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join a dynamic team and to own responsibility for expanding an already well-established print sales program to libraries.This person will maintain/grow revenue streams generated by our successful library print sales program. They will be responsible for continuing to develop wholesaler relationships for reference and CQ Researcher products through direct library sales, wholesale sales, and online vendor relationships, such as Amazon Advantage. Other responsibilities will include: Maintaining and building North American print sales revenues; Creating and monitoring print and wholesaler sales budgets; Supervising domestic vendor relationships, including promotional opportunities and presentation of CQP products; Developing new distribution channels for CQP online reference resources, such as through wholesalers and other third-party vendors; Providing analysis of promotions and product history; Delivering sales forecasts for future years, as well as current year reforecasts; Providing product management, including responsibility for inventory, pricing, and print runs; Coordinating with field sales and marketing teams and providing field sales support as needed; Generating and evaluating new product suggestions based on sales patterns; Liaising with field sales and Director re:international sales initiatives

Candidates must have prior print sales experience in the library marketplace, preferably with reference materials and periodicals. Web and partnership sales savvy, previous product development responsibilities, and a history of successful interaction with marketing, acquisitions, and editorial staff are also highly desirable.
